Your Mentor, Natalie
Hello there! I am Natalie Spehar, the acoustic/electric, multi-genre cellist that will be guiding you through this course material.
My experience as a formally-trained classical musician - alongside over 20 years of experience as a touring rock performer and prolific session artist - has given me a unique perspective on improvisation, alt-genre playing, and how to teach that versatile skill set to others. My own improv experience has allowed me to collaborate with major record labels, enjoy U.S. and European tours, and be featured as a guest artist for several major broadcasting corporations and international brands.
If you are itching to sit-in with a band, be more comfortable when put on the spot, or simply expand your musical vocabulary, this is the course for you! It’s time to share your original musical ideas and develop fulfilling ease and confidence. Let’s go!
